Leesburg

Leesburg was the first town in Kosciusko County and was the first county seat until 1854.

Old Chinworth Bridge Trail – The historic iron bridge spanning the Tippecanoe River dates to 1897 but provides a peaceful getaway today. The Old Chinworth Bridge Trail is an Instagrammable fall area because of the colorful trees alongside the trail and the striking architecture of the red bridge. The Old Chinworth Bridge is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The Beyer Farm Trail is an enjoyable trail space to walk, run, jog, and even take pictures.

Syracuse-Wawasee Trails – The Syracuse-Wawasee Trails are a more than 11-mile network of walking/bicycling trails zig-zag around the town of Syracuse, Syracuse Lake, and Lake Wawasee. This trail lets you connect with the Syracuse Community Center & Museum, athletics complex, wetlands, downtown shops, parks, and more. The Syracuse-Wawasee trails are a place to walk, relax, and enjoy the nature around it.

Conklin Bay Boardwalk – The Conklin Bay Boardwalk extends the existing 11 miles of the Syracuse-Wawasee trails with a one-third-mile wetland boardwalk with two-thirds more miles of concrete trail. The Conklin Bay Boardwalk is a pleasant place to walk, jog, run, and even take pictures with a satisfying nature background.

Pisgah Marsh Area and Boardwalk – The Pisgah Mash Area and Boardwalk is approximately 9 miles from Lawill, Indiana, west of State Road 5. This area is protected to preserve habitat resources for plants and animal species. The Pisgah Marsh and Boardwalk area consists of many trees, plants, and nature around it, which is a perfect place to see the fall foliage in Northern Indiana.   

Wildwood Nature Preserve

Wildwood Nature Preserve – This is a small pond surrounded by forest, numerous wetlands, Oak, Hickory, and more species of trees. Various birds can be seen at Wilwood, from wood ducks to several species of woodpeckers. Wildwood Nature Preserve trail length is 4.5 miles. This place is perfect for you and your family if you like being close to nature.
